Dolores Yanagihara, MPH Director, Pay for Performance Program
Dolores Yanagihara is director of the California Pay for Performance Program. Her work includes overall administration of the program, guiding the governance committees for the expansion and enhancement of the statewide collaborative program, negotiating contracts to meet the program's technical needs, spearheading data exchange and data quality improvement efforts, and promoting quality and efficiency measurement and improvement nationally by sharing expertise through committee membership, publications and speaking engagements.
Ms. Yanagihara has over fifteen years experience developing, managing and evaluating cutting edge public health programs, many of them customized for diverse cultures and educational levels. Her interest in public health was sparked by her tour of duty in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She has worked in a variety of non-profit settings, from a small substance abuse prevention agency to the largest health plan in Hawaii. In 2004 she relocated from Hawaii to northern California and joined the Integrated Healthcare Association.
She earned a Masters in Public Health in Health Education and International Health from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Notre Dame.
