Kathryn Swift Project Analyst, Medical Technology Program
Kathryn Swift is a Project Analyst for the Value Based Purchasing for Medical Devices program, a statewide program whose aim is the improvement of assessment and purchasing practices for implants used for major orthopedic, spine, and cardiac procedures. Her primary responsibilities include working with an outside data aggregator to coordinate data submission by project participants, and planning and coordination of medical device best practices roundtables.
Ms. Swift earned her bachelor of science summa cum laude with a double major in mathematics/applied science and philosophy from University of California at Los Angeles, where she was awarded the Gauss Prize in Mathematics. She is currently a doctoral candidate in philosophy at the University of California at Berkeley, where her focus is on the nature of mathematical knowledge.
