Overall Performing Physician Organizations
The 46 physician groups that performed in the top 20% overall for Measurement
Year 2007 receive recognition as a Top Overall Performing physician group. These
groups are identified by calculating composite scores in each of the three
domains, which are then weighted according to the recommended P4P payment
weightings: Clinical Quality - 50%, Patient Experience - 30%, and IT-Enabled
Systemness - 20%. An overall performance composite scores for each participating
physician group is calculated, and the 46 groups with the highest overall
composite score are designated as top overall performers.
Overall performance composite = [clinical composite * 50%] + [patient
experience composite * 30%] + [systemness score]
Ronald
P. Bangasser, M.D., Memorial Award for Quality
The physician group in each of eight P4P regions that demonstrated the most
overall improvement over the previous year. Overall performance composite scores
for the current year and the previous year are used. The award winners are
determined by calculating the relative improvement for each physician group on
the overall performance composite score for this year compared to the overall
performance composite score for last year. The physician group in each of the
eight P4P regions that has the highest improvement score for overall performance
is recognized as the most improved group in that region.
