In a new article, Healthcare Innovation outlines how IHA is helping purchasers bring Advanced Primary Care to life in California through a partnership with Purchaser Business Group on Health (PBGH).
Starting in 2022, two of California’s largest purchasers – the Covered California health insurance marketplace and the California’s Public Employee’s Retirement System (CalPERS) – are piloting the use of PBGH’s Advanced Primary Care measures through their contracts with participating health plans. The results of the pilot will inform future contracting requirements to promote Advanced Primary Care delivery within health plan networks across California.
IHA will support this effort by assessing practice-level performance on the Advanced Primary Care measures through our established Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) programs. Our AMP infrastructure allows us to disseminate pilot results directly to health plans and share aggregated findings with the participating purchasers, delivering the trusted and unbiased insights necessary to drive quality improvements forward.
