Our 2nd annual Healthcare Policy Pulse Webinar on June 27 is a wrap! The wide-ranging discussion covered key legislative and policy updates and California’s evolving healthcare quality and equity landscape.
During the legislative and policy session, our speaker detailed the final California budget and planned healthcare spending reductions aimed at addressing the state’s $47 billion deficit. We also dove into several healthcare bills of interest, including an update on Assembly Bill 236, which would require health plans to annually audit and delete inaccurate listings from their provider directories and tie existing requirements to accuracy benchmarks. AB 236 passed the Senate Health Committee and is now moving on to Appropriations.
In our healthcare quality and equity session, speakers highlighted the increased purchaser and regulator expectations around clinical quality and race and ethnicity adjustments. We also unveiled a significant redesign of our Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) program, intended to amplify and align with these industry priorities. The session concluded with updates on the California Advanced Primary Care Initiative and encounter data improvement efforts.
