Medi-Cal 1115 Waiver Renewal
In the fall of 2014, California’s Department of Health Care Services launched an effort to obtain stakeholder input on the renewal of the State of California’s 1115 Waiver, the “Bridge to Reform,” scheduled for expiration in October 2015. IHA, in partnership with the Center for Health Care Strategies, provided technical assistance to one of five Expert Stakeholder Workgroups created to support the 1115 Waiver renewal effort, the Managed Care Organization-Provider Incentive Workgroup. Three Expert Stakeholder Workgroups took place – October 2014, December 2014, and January 2015; extensive information on the meetings, including agendas and materials, are available at the DHCS website. California’s 1115 Waiver Renewal, called Medi-Cal 2020, was approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Dec. 30, 2015, and is effective January 1, 2016.
IHA’s engagement and support of the 1115 Waiver Expert Stakeholder Workgroup was funded by the California HealthCare Foundation.
