Anna Lee Amarnath, MD, MPH
General Manager, AMP

In her role, Dr. Amarnath oversees Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) Program overall strategy and execution. She also implements processes to effectively create and deliver data and analytics products to clients and the healthcare industry.
In addition to her AMP Program responsibilities, Dr. Amarnath works with key partners on the Encounter Data Governance Entity (EDGE), a cross-industry encounter data improvement project in California. She also facilitates IHA’s Health Equity Committee, which was developed to identify strategies and opportunities for the organization to support industry-wide improvements in health equity.
Dr. Amarnath joined IHA from the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), where she worked as Medical Program Consultant, Chief Medical Quality and Oversight. In her role at DHCS, she implemented clinical policy in alignment with quality strategy goals to drive health equity initiatives. Previously, Dr. Amarnath was a family medicine physician with obstetrics in Seattle.
Dr. Amarnath completed a fellowship in Quality, Safety, and Comparative Effectiveness Research at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. Prior to that, she completed a family medicine residency at Swedish Medical Center. Dr. Amarnath earned a medical degree and Master of Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
