Encounter Data Improvement

IHA’s Encounter Data Direct Training and Technical Assistance Program reached over 950,000 patients across 80 practices and community health centers. The data shows a clear theme: timely data matters more than volume.

Organizations that submit encounter data within 90 days perform better on important clinical quality measures.
Provider organizations with lower clinical risk scores and poor encounter submission timeliness have the most room to improve. 88% of those are independent practice associations.
Every drop in 90-day encounter acceptance rate means less quality data available for measurement and improvement.
